PB Djarum won the men's team champion Djarum Superliga Badminton 2019. Duet Akbar Bintang Cahyono / Berry Angriawan delivered the trophy.
PB Djarum faces Musica Trinity in the final which takes place at GOR Sabuga, Bandung, Sunday (02/24/2019). In that match, PB Djarum won 3-1.
Akbar / Berry who ensured the championship trophy for PB Djarum. In the deciding party, Akbar / Berry beat Lee Yong Dae / Kim Sa Rang 21-15 and 21-11.
Previously PB Djarum was 2-1 ahead of the victory of Mohammad Ahsan / Kevin Sanjaya Sukamuljo and Shesar Hiren Rhustavito. One PB Djarum point was lost in the first party from Ihsan Maulana Mustofa.
"The key was in Vito, so Vito won we played relaxed and nothing to lose. Even if we lost there was still a fifth party. So we played freely and maximally," Berry said in a press conference after the match.
"I am happy because I can bring PB Djarum to be a champion. Because I have been in PB Djarum, I am proud to be able to bring PB Djarum's victory," Akbar said.
PB Djarum's victory became the first time in Djarum Superliga Badminton. Previously the highest achievement of PB Djarum was runner up in 2015 and 2017.
